I am not running these days. At all. I have no interest, especially in this Texas heat. But, I do always look forward to a 6K in Dallas in November because it is the most amazing fun run I have ever participated in. Yes, I am talking about the Six:02 It’s Your Time 6K run.
I plan to do it again this year and hopefully bring some work buddies with me. Two of my co-workers joined last year, as well as my husband. It’s definitely more of a female run so I think my hubby will stay home this year. The finish line gift was a necklace and the race shirt was a hot pink tight-fitted girl shirt. Hah! I laughed when he got his package and felt like, “Oops, sorry I signed you up for this babe. But, thank you for doing it with me anyway!” He was a good sport FOR SURE!
So this year’s race is on November 14th and if you live in or around Dallas I highly recommend it. No, I am not paid to say that. I just like this one SO MUCH because it is extremely female friendly, not uber competitive, and Six:02 spoils us after the race. Seriously I think we got a free massage or pedicure last year. And hot chocolate. It was a bit cold that day! And, as if it could get any better… the Charity partner for the race is The Family Place. Love supporting a good cause!
If you don’t currently run like me, don’t fret. We can be walking buddies or “walk-ish” buddies like me and my co-worker call ourselves. Walk-ish is when you jog part of it and walk part of it.
I am so excited!!!! Not only for this race, but also for the cooler weather. YES, PLEASE!
What are you looking forward to this fall?
I am loving Six:02 these days. There are four locations in the Dallas area: Inwood Village, Galleria, Stonebriar, and Parks at Arlington. I recently visited the Inwood Village location and loved it! Walked out with a few workout items for sure.
What I love about Six:02 is the variety of workout styles they offer and the movement behind the brand. Six:02 offers some of the best athletic brands for women (think Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, etc.) under one roof. I love that! And the movement behind the brand is the Six:02 Moment. This is a moment either before your work day or after a long day where you do something for yourself. Perhaps the time of day that you are inspired, uplifted, and reaching a new goal. Maybe it is a fabulous yoga class, an outdoor run, or playing with your dog. Just search Instagram for #SIX02Moment and you will see lots of ideas!
If you are in the Dallas area and love to walk or run, I encourage you to sign up for the It’s Your Time Six:02 6K on November 15th. The run starts at 8am at Klyde Warren Park. All details can be found here. I will definitely be going and taking time out of my Saturday to focus on me. I love getting outside and connecting with nature. In fact, my usual Six:02 Moment is a morning or afternoon walk outside. I feel so refreshed and rejuvenated after being outdoors for a bit.
Okay, I have to show you my new shoes now. I got these at Six:02 tonight. Are they not freaking awesome?!?! I have never tried Mizuno so I am anxious to try these babies out.
I also got the Asics PR Tights. These have grips on the bottom so that the pant legs do not ride up. Brilliant! I cannot wait to try these babies out at the 6K. And then I bought leggings by Actra that are super soft. These will be perfect for when I am teaching an exercise class. Cute and comfortable.. two of my favorite things when it comes to workout attire.
So before I sign off on this beautiful Thursday morning, tell me… what would YOUR Six:02 Moment be?
