Welcome to Simple Delights! My name is Bri and this is where I get to write. I blog about life, but also about wellness. My hope is to help others get or stay healthy and look at health in a simple and delightful way. One of my favorite quotes is, “Be in love with your life. Every minute of it,” by Jack Kerouac. I strongly agree with this and think even nutrition and exercise should add joy to your life, not rob you of it.
As a dietitian/nutritionist and wellness coordinator, I am surrounded by health on a daily basis. I am so passionate and yearn to learn more each day. However, I know there is a TON of misinformation out there. You won’t find a fad diet on this blog… so if that is what you are looking for, you may want to look elsewhere.
As a teenager and even in my early 20s, I used to make healthy living complicated. I used to chase after a number on the scale. I used to find my value and worth in how much exercise I could get each week. Why? For what? Luckily, I found a different way to live. Once I got back to the basics, my happiness increased too. Living healthy really can be simple AND delightful. Positive thinking and how you treat yourself are two very powerful tools. Negative thinking and finding worth in arbitrary things only lead to stress and unhappiness. Not good health. Keep that in mind throughout your health journey!
I have three main pages, in addition to the home page where my blog is housed. These pages are Simple Movement, Simple Nutrition, and Simple Thoughts. Each blog post I write will most likely have one of these topics in mind. Although, sometimes I do just like to write about whatever the heck I want. So, consider yourself warned.
